This idea has been around for a while, and in fact, I've had this texturizing iron for a LONG while. I knew I had to try it on my youngest. She has super fine, dry hair that doesn't seem to want to grow very long. Braiding her hair is always a challenge because there is just not much there.
The iron I used is from conair. It has an adjustable temperature setting (which is great for her thin hair that doesn't need much heat or will burn) and an on-off button. It is narrow with 3 grooves. It heated up quickly and we started crimping away. I was not picky with where I started each clamp because I knew it would be braided and hopefully wouldn't matter by then.
This iron added SO MUCH volume to her hair - iit felt rather strange braiding it. It was nice to be able to braid it and not worry so much about smoothing out every little hair. It sure gave her a new fun look! She thought it was "cool", but said that it was "like, messy hair". You be the judge - yay or nay?
