There is LOVE'IN THE HAIR! See what I did there? Wow, my pun-loving daughter is really rubbing off on me. I 'LOVED' (had to do it again) scanning through the amazing hairstyle accounts on Instagram and found so many adorable and amazing Valentine hairstyles. Luckily, my littles (who are not so little anymore) were willing to let me play with their hair! Here are six easy styles that you can do with not much time or hair styling experience.
#1 Braided Heart
#2 Braided Heart
I'm not sure if I saw this exact braided heart anywhere in particular. We just experimented and it worked! Part it down the middle and about 2" to each side to get two sections of hair. Braid each section, starting as close to the middle part as possible. Make a bit of mini bun with each braid by guiding the braid up, toward the middle, then out to the side of the head. Secure with a bobby pin. This will give it a natural arch for the round parts of the heart. Connect the braids with an elastic at the bottom. Keep two braids going down the length of the hair, or have them end at the bottom of the heart, or leave them halfway like we did. Bow: Valentine Fabric Hair Bow by BowSweet
#3 Heart Part
#4 Linked Heart
Linked heart style, inspired by
brownhairedbliss on Instagram. Super cute with the hair down, or pulled back into a messy side bun with a glitter hair bow. Start with three ponytails, flip them using a Topsy Tail, then weave the ends around each other and secure with an elastic at the bottom. This style took a little more time, and ended up a little bit messier. Most of the frustration was just with her thin, fly-away hairs. More water spritzing and gel would've done the trick to clean it up.
#5 Mermaid Heart Braid
What's great about this hairstyle is that it looks much more complicated than it is! Check out this video from Cute Girls Hairstyles to see the Mermaid Heart Braid. This style took the longest, but could still be done in 15 min or less. And I'm all about not waking up too early in the mornings! Bow: Satin Fabric Bow by BowSweet.
#6 The Love Bun
Check out Cute Girl's Hairstyles tutorial HERE. Bow: Burlap Love Bow by BowSweet.
Wanna know the secret to the heart bun?? It's not a hidden Mickey - it's a hidden doughnut bun maker! Just use a couple of elastics to make the circle into a heart. Put the ponytail into the hole in the middle of the bun maker, slide the 'mickey' down against the head. Lay the hair evenly over the top, loop another elastic over the hairs, and wrap the remaining hairs around the base of the bun. LOVE it!

#IF ALL ELSE FAILS
And if all else fails, just clip in a BowSweet Valentine bow!
